LAST TIME OUT: BRUNSWICK CITY

A cold, windy day at Dunstan Reserve saw United draw 1-1 away against Brunswick City.

United had the best of the early chances, Geoffry Lino having his shot saved and Zac Walker’s left footed strike just going the wrong side of the post. United went close again not long after. A good cross from Darcy Pawlik found Lino in the box, he set up Lionel Masudi who’s shot blazed past the post.

More pressure saw Brunswick give United a free kick on the edge of the box, Walker stepped up but his shot was saved by Coles in the Brunswick goal.

United’s good work was undone however in the 41st minute, a long ball over the top in search of Romas was not dealt with by Nikolovski, who came out but couldn’t claim the ball. A simple tap in to Romas and United went in at the break a goal down.

Trustworthy striker Zac Walker found the net for United in the 67th minute just minutes after his free kick skimmed the outside of the post. Good work from Lino put Walker in on goal and he slotted past Coles.

Brunswick almost walked away with all three points in the dying minutes, Adam Wright’s header cleared off the line by Nick Murphy which meant that both teams had to settle for a point.
