Ballarat looking to fight their relegation & jubilation for both Melbourne teams.

The Ballarat Red Devils are  ‘inquiring’ into the scenario surrounding their relegation from the NPL to NPL1 for 2015. The Red Devils lost their final match of the season minutes prior to the conclusion of the Port Melbourne Vs Werribee game.

A last minute goal from Port Melbourne sealed the draw that kept both teams up and sent Ballarat down. However Reds Chairman Duncan Smith has found it necessary to approach the NPLV in relation to the drawn match, stating that it started later than scheduled and included a longer than normal half time break.

While there have been no suggestions of Match fixing, Smith wants to act on behalf of the members and supporters in at least having the NPLV look into matters surrounding their relegation.

In the A-league, David Villa celebrated a sublime goal to draw against Sydney FC, who earlier had both sets of fans applauding thanks to a sensational Corey Gameiro strike. City will look to bolster their lineup for their upcoming match against the Jets at home, with former Premier League and Slovenian attacker Robert Koren likely to be unveiled this weekend.

Meanwhile, Victory fans are surely still talking about their 4-1 demolition of Asian Champions League Finalists Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night. Goals to Berisha, Broxham, Thompson and DelPierre snatching all 3 points for the boys in blue.
