National Premier Leagues (NPL) is the preferred and most recognised pathway to becoming a professional footballer in Australia. It is the second tier of Football that underpins the national A-League competition.
Nationally there are approximately 134 NPL football clubs. In Victoria there are 34 clubs including A-League clubs Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City.
Murray United has 8 teams competing in the FV National Premier Leagues (NPL) Competition – they are U12, U13, U14, U15, and U16 boys teams. We are also fully accredited and licenced to run the Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) for boys up to U11 and girls up to U12 as foundation for NPL participation.
To ensure talented female players in regional areas also have the opportunity to access the NPL pathway, players in regions without WNPL representation are permitted to play down one age group in the regional NPL boys team/s.
