It was a full slate of action across JBNPL and CPL competitions this weekend, with Murray United teams facing fierce opponents in tough conditions. Here’s how it all played out:
⚽ JBNPL 1 – U17s v Dandenong City
Final Score: 3–4 Loss
Goal Scorers: PJ, Ash, Archie
In a rollercoaster of a match played in difficult weather, the U17s took an early lead but struggled during a patchy first half. Despite a strong start to the second half and quick goals, late lapses cost us dearly.
Standouts: Nate, Pieter, Richard
⚽ JBNPL 2 – Round 12
U14s v Heidelberg Warriors
Final Score: 3–0 Win
Goal Scorers: Cam Harb (2), Jimmy Griffith
A strong defensive display and clinical attacking moments earned our U14s a well-deserved victory. The squad showed composure, resilience, and flair—especially in the second half.
Standouts: Leo Mason, Noah Brunec, Andy Reckless
U15s v Heidelberg Warriors
Final Score: 2–1 Win
Goal Scorers: Tyla Singh, Christian Pasqualotto
A dominant first half laid the foundation, with two fine finishes putting us ahead. Heidelberg pushed hard late, but our boys held firm in a thrilling finish.
Standouts: Tyla Singh, Bailey Meredith, Liam O’Connor, Harry Norman, Easton Fullwood
U16s v Moreland City
Final Score: 3–2 Win
Goal Scorers: Koby (2), Leroy
Despite playing against a 9-man Moreland side for most of the match, it wasn’t smooth sailing. The boys rallied from a 2–1 deficit at the break to secure the win but know there’s room for improvement in possession.
Standouts: Koby Shields, Leroy Ogesare, Mason Godfrey, Jack Ryder
Special mention: Lachlan Burt debuted with a composed 70-minute shift!
⚽ CPL Girls
U13s v North Geelong Warriors
Final Score: 1–2 Loss
Goal Scorer: Tully G
A dream start with an early goal from Tully couldn’t be converted into a win. Despite strong defensive work and effort across the park, we narrowly missed out in a physical contest.
Standouts: Tully G, Paige P, Aria H
U15s v North Geelong Warriors
Final Score: 0–1 Loss
In a fiercely competitive match, our girls battled hard and dominated long stretches of play. A single first-half goal proved the difference in an otherwise excellent showing.
Standouts: Ruby O, Molly S, Pippa O
Impact Players: Kiera A, Inanay G, Carly O, Rowena R, Olive, Emma, and supporter Tully – thank you all!
U17s v North Geelong Warriors
Final Score: 0–1 Loss
A tightly fought match with chances both ways saw our girls fall just short. Defensive efforts were superb, and a late chance to equalise went agonisingly close. A great team effort in testing conditions.
Standouts: Stella Maloney, Jenna Ruhbaum, Olive Fullwood
Shoutout to U15s GK Pippa for stepping in with composure, and thanks to all the U15s who supported the squad.
💬 Final Word
It was a weekend of tough battles, determined performances, and standout individual efforts across all age groups. Our teams continue to develop and push hard each week as we head into the business end of the season.
