It was the final round of the regular season for our NPL Boys, while the CPL Girls have a few more to play, with plenty of pride on the line – and in the case of our U14 boys, a shot at finals. Here’s how the action unfolded:
⚽ U14 Boys – 1–0 Win v St Albans
Goal Scorer: Cam Harb
With finals still a possibility, our U14 boys knew Saturday’s clash was a must-win – and they delivered. After a composed passage of play, Andy cleverly drew a foul in the box, allowing Cam to step up and calmly slot the penalty.
Despite dominating chances with efforts from Noah, Hunter, and Victor, the scoreboard remained tight, and the boys had to dig deep in the second half. A late injection of energy from Chase and Lachy helped them hold on for a hard-fought 1–0 win.
The result was enough to secure a spot in finals football this weekend – a massive achievement in a very tight group.
High performance players: Hunter Neville, Leo Mason, Ash O’Connor.
⚽ U15 Boys – 1–1 Draw v St Albans
Goal Scorer: Xavier Rech
The U15s finished their season with a spirited draw. Xavier opened the scoring from a corner, reacting quickest to a rebound and putting Murray ahead. The boys looked sharp after the break, with Cameron and Easton both going close, but St Albans equalised with a long-range strike late in the game.
With finals out of reach, the boys showed plenty of heart to finish with a point. Several U14s also stepped up and gained valuable experience at this level.
High performance players: Xavier Rech, Liam O’Connor, Andrew Herzina, Bailey Meredith.
⚽ U16 Boys – 4–2 Win v St Albans
Goal Scorers: Senga, Koby, Lachlan, Keiran
The U16s saved their best for last with a thrilling come-from-behind win. After a slow start saw them concede twice early, the boys roared back into the contest with four goals in 20 minutes. Senga, Koby (penalty), Keiran and Lachlan all found the net in a blistering spell before half time.
The second half was about grit and resilience, with the team holding strong despite finishing with no bench. The win capped off the season in style, with the celebrations and club song sung at full volume.
High performance players: Koby Shields, Jack Ryder, Lachlan Burt, Odin Hooper, Andrew Herzina, Liam O’Connor.
⚽ U17 Boys – 3–0 Loss v Melbourne Victory
Facing powerhouse Melbourne Victory, our boys showed plenty of courage. Despite going behind to a set piece in the first half, Murray created multiple chances in the second, hitting the crossbar and missing narrowly from corners and one-on-ones.
While the scoreline read 3–0, the performance was full of determination, with the boys proving they can compete at Division 1 level.
Special mentions to Harry, who made his U17 debut, and Archie Drummond, who played his final game after coming through the club since U13s.
High performance players: Pieter, Ash, Nate.
⚽ U13 Girls – 2–0 Win v Avondale
Goal Scorers: Pamela D, Matilda C
The U13 girls dominated from start to finish, controlling possession and creating plenty of opportunities. After being held scoreless in the first half, Pamela converted a penalty to break the deadlock before Matilda sealed the win with a stunning free kick from near halfway.
It was a strong, united performance full of teamwork and belief.
High performance players: Pamela D, Matilda C, Piper W.
⚽ U15 Girls – 3–1 Win v Avondale
Goal Scorers: Sibel P, Achol D, Zoe F
With a depleted squad, the U15 girls produced a gutsy display to secure all three points. Sibel opened the scoring before Achol doubled the lead with a composed one-on-one finish. After Avondale pulled one back directly from a corner, Murray responded immediately through Zoe to put the result beyond doubt.
A scrappy but important victory keeps the girls pushing for a strong ladder finish.
Top player: Sibel P
Impact players: Keira, Zoe, Molly
⚽ U17 Girls – 1–0 Win v Avondale
Goal Scorer: Sibel Primerano
The U17 girls claimed a tight 1–0 win thanks to a well-constructed team goal. Jenna’s defensive work led to Louisa threading a perfect ball through for Sibel, who calmly finished.
Despite losing striker Sade to injury early, the girls controlled possession and defended strongly against a physical opponent. A late red card each side added tension, but Murray held on to sing the song loudly after the final whistle.
High performance players: Olive Fullwood, Ilaria Esposito, Alisha Feillafe.
