Sunday was a special day for Murray United, with our CPL Girls travelling to Melbourne to play their Round 14 fixtures at the Home of the Matildas, while our NPL Boys battled through their penultimate round of the regular season.
With just one game left in the NPL season, the race for finals spots is still alive — and Round 15 promises to be decisive.
JBNPL1 – U17 Boys
Final Score: 1–6 Loss
Goal Scorer: Oli
A bright start saw Murray control the tempo in the opening stages, but Oakleigh’s clinical finishing soon turned the tide. Defensive lapses proved costly as the visitors took control, yet the boys fought to the end, with Oli’s header from a corner providing a deserved reward. Debutant Christian made his first appearance for the 17s, while Asher once again impressed playing up from the 15s.

In their final home game of the season, the U14s fought hard to keep their finals hopes alive. In a disciplined performance, the U16s stuck to their defensive plan and struck through Koby’s penalty just after the hour mark. Werribee pushed hard late, but Murray’s defence held firm to secure the win. Milestone games for Jack Ryder (100) and Koby Shields (150) added to the occasion.

A Memorable Day for the Club
For our girls, playing at the Home of the Matildas wasn’t just about the scoreline — it was about the experience, inspiration, and pride of wearing the red and white on one of Australia’s most iconic football stages. For our NPL Boys, Round 14 was about grit, growth, and keeping the dream alive heading into the final week of the regular season.
Next weekend will be huge — with finals places still within reach, expect nothing less than full commitment from every Murray United player who steps onto the pitch.
